Walking Meditation
A form of meditation in action that can be done anywhere you please is called walking meditation. In fact you can take a meditation walk especially fro the sake of meditation or you can practice it while walking to the car or walking down the road from a bus stop or a terminal. You can also take a meditation prayer walk in the garden early in the morning or late evening when the weather is conducive. There are many kinds to practice walking meditation. The best aspect of walking meditation is that you are more aware of your body when in motion than when it is inactive as in a sitting meditation. Your body is energized and made more agile. So when practicing walking meditation the effect of our meditation is considered to be more especially if done in the open air like a park or a garden where the air is pure and fresh. The walking meditation can be done for a period of 30 mins or slightly more gradually increasing it to an hour and half so that the body too gets its full quota of exercising. When doing this form of meditation, start the awareness process of your body as soon as the feet touches the ground.
